About Janet Resnick...

 

Janet has worked for over 25 years as a Developmental Therapist for regional center agencies and Special Needs Infant/Toddler classes in many counties throughout Southern California. She has presented numerous professional development seminars, as well as parent education workshops in the areas of: Conflict Resolution; Behavior Management; Understanding the Special Needs Child; Strategies of Communication with Children Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD); Inclusion of Children diagnosed with ASD; and Understanding the Special Needs Child: Signs and Symptoms. She regularly acts as a liaison between parents, medical professionals and educators. Janet currently works with families who are experiencing  developmental and behavioral challenges at home and in the pre-school classroom with their young child.  Her primary focus is on conducting a thorough assessment, diagnostic picture, and from this, appropriate school and treatment recommendations for each child. Her goal is to promote positive change in these environments by working closely with parents and teachers to develop a comprehensive treatment plan.


Accomplishments include:


• Master of Arts degree in Human Development with a specialization in young children.

• Certified in the Development, Individual Differences and Relationship Model (DIR Floortime Model)

• Certified Instructor of Infant Massage (C.I.I.M.)

• Received extensive training in the Treatment of Children with  Developmental Disabilities at UCLA and in Developmentally Supportive Care for Premature Infants (Newborn Individualized Development Care and Assessment Program, NIDCAP) at The University of California at San Francisco.
